As a hand letterer, one of the primary concerns is what to letter. Namely, avoid the typical motivational posters. They’re tired, overdone, and superfluous. But when a client came to me and asked for a series of fun and interesting motivational posters for a rehabilitation facility for teens, I thought it would be a challenging experiment. Trying to make posters that teens would look at and not think, “Ugh, another ‘Keep Your Head Up’ poster.” I used more fun phrases, including a Snoop Dog quote, to make things a little more interesting.
